Rabbit attack

When we were at a garden centre a week or so ago the woman behind the counter told us that if we had a gate in the rabbit fence we should be careful because rabbits can get through gates. Thinking she was talking about rabbits getting under the gate we laughed and said:  "No problem! we had that covered, the bottom was secured."
"No," she said, " If you leave the gate open they can come through it."
We went home having a little laugh about someone thinking we wouldn't know rabbits could get through gates.

This morning I got up to find I had left a gate open, and a rabbit got in and started eating two of my scottish thistles that I had grown from seed last year and nurtured through the winter.
So the woman was right after all, rabbits can get through gates:-)
